Thistle Kilt Pin/Brooch A113
A versatile piece featuring a classic Scottish thistle atop a staff of intertwining cords that come together and taper to a pointed end. It is suitable as either a kilt pin or a brooch. The body of the pin, with its open spaces, allows the plaid or other fabric to show through for a lighter feel than our solid engraved thistle kilt pin, making it a great unisex choice. At the top, two prickly leaves with chased veins frame a richly coloured purple amethyst crowned by deeply engraved silver “down”. A lovely complement to any kilt outfit or jacket, it is a great choice for every day or to commemorate a special occasion.

Harking back to the beauties of the natural world so often depicted in Victorian arts and crafts, the three-dimensional engraving of this oval brooch is given further depth and lustre by the mother of pearl that it frames. The same design has also been fashioned into a distinctive bracelet.
